Good morning! May the everlasting grace of our Lord Jesus surround you with love on this fine day. I read some small part of the writings of Anne Bradstreet the other day, including the poem she wrote after her house burned to the ground one night. Praising God after a tragedy may be one of the more difficult things to do in this life. However, it is from the tragedy of our old life that Christ ransomed us. Tragic events in our life, though painful, can remind us always of the one who died for us. Is there a time for sorrow? Most certainly and Jesus will be right there grieving with us at those times. The Good News is that Jesus will bring us through those times to the shores of that blessed land which he has prepared for us to the glory of God, the Father. Times will come when we may not feel that the great day of Jesus will ever arrive, not unlike a child prior to Christmas. We may not look back from that day, but if we did we would certainly realize that Jesus meant what he said, “…Yes, I am coming soon!” (Revelation 22:20, NLT)
Amen! Come Lord Jesus!
