Happy New Year! We will be hit with many New Year messages in the coming days, mostly from places hoping that you will spend some of your hard-earned money at their place of business. The holidays are coming to a close one more time and it does cause me a bit of a sad feeling each year. Holidays and celebrations here on earth always come to an end, as do the difficult times, but one day we will see the beginning of a never ending celebration. Jesus will return to create a new kingdom. As this New Year begins, we should resolve to spread the good news to everyone on earth. Yes, it will be difficult for any of us to visit more than 6 billion people in one year, perhaps even impossible. Therefore we will need to work together and trust in God. Does it seem that all tasks are just too big for us? It does to me. Even with the technical wonder of e-mail and the Internet, it just doesn’t seem possible to get the word out to 6 or 7 billion persons on the planet. However, that is happening through the many Christian television programs, Internet sites, e-mail devotionals (hey!), and radio programs. Everyone will have access to the Word of God at some point in the near future. 2007 could be the year that Christ returns! Every year since the middle of the 1st century someone has said “this could be the year!” and that is still true. We don’t know when Christ our Lord will return, we just know it will be soon. Never give up hope and rest secure in our faith, the Lord Jesus Christ is coming quickly!
