Going back to the King James version this morning, we have this little gem:
My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word. (Ps 119:28)
The longest psalm and chapter in the Bible uses 'Thy word' 35 times in its 176 verses. It may be that the Word of God has some importance to the authors of that long psalm.
Our Lord is faithful and true; when He gives His word we have no fear that He will not perform and keep His word. The word of God is precious to us; a treasure we hardly deserve, but in it are the words of our eternal hope. When circumstances are tough for us, His word brings comfort. When a celebration is in order, His word brings news of more and better celebration to come. When we yearn for the return of our Lord, His word assures us that the time will come.
"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." Ps 119:105His Word has spoken!
