A change is promised for today from balmy spring temperatures back to the frigid blast of winter. Of course it is February, we were living in a sort of borrowed time there for the past few days. Things were not as they should be in weather terms. While we enjoyed that time of mild weather, we know that it cannot last. We know in our believing hearts that this time of evil on the earth cannot last either.
"Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.” Revelation 12:12
Once upon a time there was no separation between heavens and the earth. The earth was at peace with God, and Adam walked with his Lord in the cool of an evening. Then things became as they should not be and they have been that way ever since. However, our verse for today reminds us that the Serpent is a short-timer. All this suffering will end for those who believe. Earth and the heavens will once again be reunited with our Lord God. We don't know the day but we do have His promise.
Until that great day comes, be faithful and loving to each other, and love the Lord Jesus with all your heart!
