And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. - Matthew 28:18
Sometimes we think that God is like the overseer of our action, holding the whip of His word ready to smack us into motion, threatening always that eternal punishment to the slow to get moving at His command. That is harsh and certainly unfair to our Lord. That is also what we would do in His place. You only deny it through long association with His Holy Spirit, but the fallen sons of Adam cannot wield absolute power without falling further still. Only one Man lived who had all authority given to Him and yet lived only to serve all. Praise God for our friend and servant, Jesus the Christ.
God is a divine being of great action, but most of it is His actions. While He does oversee our actions, His actions are so much more than any and all of us combined that we cannot even comprehend the width and breadth of His actions on just one day. It is a blessing to see His hand at work in human affairs though!
Things happen that we cannot see and a long standing problem is resolved almost magically to our limited vision. We who believe in Him give to Him the glory. Even those actions that He grants to us as a part of building His kingdom are only possible in and through Him. We are weak, and His strength is made glorious in our weakness. Praise God for His actions, and for those few which He allows you and me to have a part in.
Jesus loves us with an everlasting love!
