A Gift For Us

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  Isaiah 9:6

Yes, it is time to write about the greatest of gifts God gave to us, His Son. The names of this Child point to someone rather special. Not just anyone will be called Wonderful or Counselor, but that doesn't narrow it down enough for our Lord's prophecy. We have Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace, and these names can belong to only one was born and given. While some in the end times will try to make them fit another, only Jesus carries these names with lawful authority from His Father, God. 

Therefore, each day unwrap a little of that greatest of gifts by the study of His Word. Reveal a bit more of the gift through sharing His good news with a friend. Open the gift a little further in prayer. And of course, rejoice in the gift of God since that is what the Giver of the Gift longs to see in us.
