April 6, 2007

Good morning! You may have noticed a couple of days off for me recently. Sunday and Thursday I took off from writing and working. Today is the day traditionally known as Good Friday. On this day we remember the death of our Lord Jesus on the cross at Calvary. On this day many years ago, Jesus was abandoned by his disciples, the Jerusalem crowd had turned violently against him, and for a moment even his father in heaven had to turn from the sin that lay so heavily upon him. We know this story has a victorious ending, and we will get to that on Sunday. For this day, we remember the sacrifice that Jesus made for the redemption of our sin; he paid the price so that we might live.
He died for us so that we can live with him forever, whether we are dead or alive at the time of his return. 11 So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. (1 Thes. 5:10-11)
We do need to encourage each other in our walk with the Lord. This life is difficult and we yearn for the day of Jesus’ return.

Remember the Cross!
