Reaching Down, Reaching Out

"And in that day, God reached down and placed them together, by two and by three He placed them so. Also in that day, God caused the two to reach out to the one, and in their communion, He saw that it was good." I cheated and placed quotation marks where they do not belong, but that almost sounds biblical. It is a glimpse of how we feel when God reaches down and causes us to reach out to include others in our fellowship. The groups do not have to be large. Jesus said, "For where two or three are gathered in My name, I am there in the midst of them. (Matt 18:20) Just the same though, the group of folks gathered in His name can be quite large or even just a little larger than two or three.

When we reach out in the strength of God's Spirit and welcome another into our fellowship, we follow the commandment of Christ to take the good news into all the earth. We also follow our Lord's command to love our neighbor, and His new commandment to love one another. In our fellowship, we are obedient to the Lord, and He is there in the midst of us.

Have a blessed day in fellowship with Christ Jesus!
