How did it get to be Friday already? Well, a little work, a little snowstorm, a bit more work, then a lot of work, and Friday was here. Jesus will one day return for each of us, but we often wonder, "How do we get there?" The answer is much the same as Friday arrives each week. We do a bit of work, enjoy a bit of sleep, a few meals are rejoiced over, play a few games, watch a show or two, and we tell of our great Savior through our actions and words. Then, on a date and time when no man knows, Jesus returns. We may be at work or at play in that moment, but we will know without a doubt the time has come. Jesus said:
For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. (Matt 24:27)
Like the days of the week we don't have to worry about getting there. The day will come whether we watch the clock and calendar or we go about our business. As the parable teaches us, it is much better to be found at work when the Master returns.
