Saved From Sins

"And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21

The pastor's family served an excellent Thanksgiving feast yesterday, and even picked up a couple of strays along the way; those being Ron and I. The feast was so good it knocked Ron right out after the first round of eating. We have photos to prove it!

One of the other great things about our annual celebration of thanksgiving to our Lord is that we immediately begin the celebration of the season of His birth. Whether in prayer or in Bible study, we begin a special season because our Lord Jesus is so special to us. We read in our verse for today of the saving power of the coming Son. He will save His people from their sins. Certainly a casual read of the histories and prophecies in the Old Testament will show they need it! But, wait! The Israelites are not our Lord's only peoples, for in the end the Revelation speaks of nations, peoples, tribes, and tongues gathered as the saved of our Lord. We too need His saving grace for our sins. Praise God in thanksgiving, for our Lord did not short us peoples still to come in His sacrifice and saving. We can know that we too are saved from sins.

Have a blessed Christmas season!
