Among the Gentiles, where the Word of the Lord has shined on us the light of His love, we praise the name of our Lord Jesus with thanksgiving on this day.
One day of thanksgiving to the Lord is not enough, and so we give thanks daily, perhaps even moment by moment to our Lord. However, setting aside one day to give thanks to the Lord and celebrate it with traditional meals and other activities is good for us and pleasing to Him. As we gather together on this day of thanksgiving, we remember our Lord's sacrifice to save us from the stain of sin under which we were first born. We recall in gratitude all that our Lord has done for us and provided to us. Thanksgiving sets us apart from the many nations who do not celebrate a day of expressing our gratitude to the Lord our God. Lift up your praises of grateful joy to the Lord on this day, and enjoy to the fullest what He has provided in this feast.
