Always Come Back

“In the distant future, when you are suffering all these things, you will finally return to the LORD your God and listen to what he tells you." Deuteronomy 4:30 NLT

Here is a prophecy for Israel from the distant past, and if we read back a bit in that same chapter we can see listed the very history of Israel after they did just what the Lord had told them not to do. Israel is back, the nation is set to fulfill this prophecy. They will, probably are even as we read this, return to the LORD as they have already suffered these things. What an awesome God that He never forgets His promises though for us thousands of years have passed.

Always come back to His mercy and grace. Temptations are successful at times when shot at us from the enemy and sin does follow. We are still inclined like the thirsty man crossing the desert to take whatever water is offered to us. We have no discipline in ourselves to refuse the toxic water and wait for the springs of living water. However, we can always come back to find the Lord's mercy if we will ask and repent of the ways of the flesh. We can take up the word of God and listen to what He tells us just like those Israelites returning to Him after so long. Always come back to our Lord Jesus Christ!
