November 25, 2006

Good Morning! We are still in our Thanksgiving week celebration, so what should we be grateful for today? How about that marvel of modern communication, the Internet? Do we take it for granted that email will always be available? Perhaps we do. There is an ability within us that renders the new and novel into the commonplace in a very short time. 20 years ago only a few academic and government institutions had a method of text messaging over distance. As with every wonderful advance in technology, we can use the Internet and email for good or bad. Along with messages from our brothers and sisters in Christ, we also can have pornography, gambling, and terrorism. Every special interest group has a web site and usually offers the opportunity to join, with the appropriate fee of course. The world would say that Christianity has a fee structure also; there is that 10% tithe we speak of from time to time. However we know better, it costs no money to join our club, it isn’t even a club such as we define the term. We gain a relationship with Christ for nothing; everything has already been accomplished for us. So as we are thankful for this wonderful medium of communication, so also are we thankful for Christ our Lord!

Praise God!
