That Which Was Lost

That the saying might be fulfilled which He spoke, “Of those whom You gave Me I have lost none.”  John 18:9

And with this verse in the latter part of the gospel of John, the word lost has served its purpose and finished its journey in the New King James version of the Bible. We might gaze in wonder at the Savior all day for His fulfillment of that promise. Lost still plays a part in our lives today. How can it be done? In the same way that our Lord stated from the cross, "It is finished!" Salvation brings to an end our wanderings in the fields of doubt. We believe in Jesus, others reject Him, and the world waits for the final division to be made. It all seems so final, and yet here we live day by day. The time and timing of our Lord's word and work is a wonder and a delight to us. Easy to understand? Nope, we must learn to wait on the Lord, and do it patiently. Easy to do? Nope! It is like all the other things that are tough to learn and require a lifetime of practice.

Praise and glory to the Shepherd who found us and leads us in His grace!
