A Memorial Before The Lord

And when he observed him, he was afraid, and said, “What is it, lord?” So he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God.  Acts 10:4

Cornelius was a man serving in the army of Rome as a centurion. The Lord God had a memorial before Him from the man's prayers and alms. That's powerful. We celebrate a memorial day too, and the sacrifice made by the men and women who are recognized on this day I believe comes up before God much like this one mentioned by the angel of the Lord. Jesus spoke of no one having a greater love than the person who lays down his or her life for their friends. Some might scoff at extending friendship to our nation by way of service in the Armed Forces, but I would disagree with those scoffers. On this day in which solemn ceremonies will mark and memorialize those who gave their last full measure of devotion for our nation, we pray for this nation and for those who seem to be forgetting the sacrifices that allow them to go their way. We also remember the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ, who laid down His life for us, His friends.

In the love of Christ Jesus,

Bucky
